I have been walking in the rain almost everyday since I started on March 7 from Sevilla. Now I am in Torremejía and will go to Mérida today. It is cold but dry. Anybody is walking to Mérida today?

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Walked yesterday in terrible rain from Casar de Caceres 21 km to find out, that the Alcantara albergue was not open. ( a private party I suppose) Abt. 20 pilgrims had to walk additional 11 km to Canaveral.
We wandered, how can this kind of albergue be on the guid lists witch is so often closed. The 2’nd time for us.

Ahhhh... canaveral....is the place that I met my Love. And it was because the albergue on the mountain has closed. Lucky me. and the albergue in canaveral has a speaker which speaks Chinese when You push the main gate.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Oh you are all worrying me! Starting Mérida on Thursday is it going to improve does anyone know?

My sister and I had a sunny great walk from Alcuescar to Aldea del Cano today. Decided to stop early and do laundry since clothes would certainly get dry. We got soaked the day before and expected to stay in Aljucen. Unfortunately, one of the alberques was closed and the other full so we had to go on to Alcuescar. Light rain is expected in the morning.

Really feel for all those now walking with the heavy rain and accomodation problems.
I am planning to start from Seville on the 12 April.
Can you tell give me some idea of the numbers walking each day; I was not anticipating having any accommodation problems however perhaps there are not enough beds along the VDLP??

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You always find a solution, e.g. Today in Galisteo albergue is full, but there is a pension next door and a hotel a bit faraway.

Thankyou to all who are giving daily feedback re albergues and weather. I am nervous but it has always worked out in the past. Perhaps the VdlP is getting more popular even in March and April.

I had 3 days of sun, wonderful walk. Yesterday I walked from Aldea del Cano to Caceres with a bit of rain till I got to the hostal and heavy later. Today I have taken a break from walking and visiting the city of Caceres, wonderfully sunny.
Tomorrow the rain is back again!
If you are in Caceres next Wednesday, there will be big thing about the Easter.

Hi Happy Mark, we will be arriving in Seville 11 April and starting to walk on 14th, might see you out there, Janette and Alan from Australia

Hi Everyone, we're new on the forum but not new to the Caminos :) We're from Australia and it's currently the cyclone season and we've just had 4 weeks of torrential rain, flooding and high winds, so we'll be right at home if it's still raining on the VDLP when we start from Seville on 14 April! Thanks for all the updates, hope to see some of you out there. Janette and Alan. http://rawveganpath.com
