I'll be arriving in Alicante v early on a Saturday morning in mid September. Can anyone advise me where I can get an early morning sello to start my camino ? The main cathedral doesn't seem to open until 10am, which seems quite late to me for a church on a week end. Perhaps there are alternatives e.g Tourist Information.
As I have been to Alicante before I didn't really want to hang around waiting for the cathedral to open.

This website states that the cathedral is open from 8:00 AM. I expect you'll find someone to stamp your credential.

Failing that, try the nearby Convent - Iglesia Clarisas Capuchinas. I'll bet the nuns get up early.
Calle Cándida Jimeno Gargallo, 5, 03001 Alicante (Alacant),

Failing that, most cafes will have a stamp ...

Thanks for that. I wasn't very clear in my post: the walk seems to start at the Santa Maria Basilica so that was where I was hoping to get a stamp. When I did the VDLP last year Seville cathedral opened at 8am. I'm happy with stamps from bars etc when on the road so to speak, but prefer churches, especially at the start / end.

Buen Camino, completed the Camino del Sureste about a month ago and altho very flat and unpopulated in the early stages (didn’t see another pilgrim until just before Toledo) I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The Spanish communities were so friendly and interested in my walk👍 Your post brought back many happy memories❤

Did you call ahead to book albergues in the early stages (to Toledo) as seems to be required ?
