Taxi along the Central route

Our group of 8 will begin walking on the Central route of Camino Portuguese early May.

A member or two in the group can't walk 20+ km a day. They may walk 10+ km and then take a taxi or bus to the end point of the day.

Is taxi/bus (readily) available along the Central route? How much would it cost per km? (CF was roughly about 1 euro per km.)

Thanks,

DF

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
A bar can always summon a taxi. Often, however, it is easier to get a taxi at the start of a leg rather than in the middle. Taxi cost is about the same as in Spain.

Last sunday I sent an email to a taxi company in Viana do Castelo for our jump from the Portuguese coastal caminho to the central caminho. A distance of about 30 kms. They offered me a price of 25€ including VAT

Here below their email.

As requested, we send the budget for the transport mentioned below, for the value of 25.00 euros.

The amount shown already includes the value of the tax at the legally enforceable rate of 6%.

Taxi Filipe Viana do Castelo Portugal.

We walk that day from Esposende to Viana do Castelo 20 kms and jump over to Casa da Fernanda on the Central route to continue from there.
On the sunday when we jump, the timeschedules of buses and trains are very poor so decided to take a taxi. When we arrive in Viana we will give them a call as we agreed and we will be picked up .

I found their name on the internet by googling. "Taxi Viana de Castelo " and sent them an email. I speak português but they also replied in english .
So I advice you to do the same. Prepare this in advance before you walk so you have listed all the phonenumbers of the different taxicompanies along the caminho.
