Taxi from Bayonne to SJPdP?

MStypula

Hi All,
I am taking a train from Paris to Bayonne, and I am planning on taking a train from Bayonne to SJPdP, however in the event of a travel emergency I am wondering if it is possible to get a taxi from the Bayonne train station to SJPdP.
1) Is it possible?
2) Does anyone have a ballpark price for this ride?
Thanks in advance.
Cheers!
Merril

Hi!
Last year I booked transport from the airport in Biarritz to SJPdP with Express Bourricot.
It worked very well.

The price for direct transportation at 66 Euro is shared among the passengers, so the more you are, the cheaper it gets
I booked it upfront and dropped a note at this forum about it, in hope to get fellow passengers.
We ended up to be 3 passengers. 22 Euro each - cheap!

Hi Merril.

Yes, it's possible. From the airport in Biarritz (a similar distance as from Bayonne) we were quoted about 80 Euros last April. If you find others to share with that could work OK, otherwise it could be cheaper and easier to stay in Bayonne and move on to SJPP on the first train the next day. It depends what bookings and plans you may already have made.

I'd suggest being prepared to accept either option. You'll be a bit nervous about starting your Camino anyway, so don't add stress just because the train is running late etc.

Buen Camino!

Thank you for your advice. I will be sure to have a back up plan (and enough extra cash) just in case something happens with the train situation.
Cheers!

One of the freedoms that I gained on the Camino was to let go of plans and expectations.
In the morning each day I would inevitably be asked "Where are you going today?"

"West" became my answer.

Please, can someone help us ? we are two friends; we will arrive from Lourdes to Bayonne by train on the 4th of august at 19:58. the last train to SJPdP leaves at 19:36. We tried to book a taxi with EXPRESS BOURRICOT but they denied the service. Do You have any suggestion to reach Saint Jean the same evening to start the camino on sunday ? Do you know any other taxi company ? Thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
