Tea on the Camino?

Planning to walk the Camino Frances mid May 2018
Is it a struggle or easy to get a cup of tea (morning or any time) on the Camino? I DO love coffee but unfortunately developped am allery. I react against coffee with bad red dry and itchy skin patches. This was all triggered by the strong Vietnamese coffee I loved to drink while living in Vietnam. So, got to cut it out and only sneak one in now and then. Usually drink now green or ordinary tea with a little milk. Shall I take tea bags and ask for a cup of hot water (ppl might think I’m nuts) or will I be able to order tea in cafes along the Camino?

Té con limón, por favor. Had at least one every day. Most places selling coffee also sell tea. I was usually asked if I wanted green (verde) or black (negro). Loved my timeout tea breaks. Also took a few tea bags but they are easy to buy practically anywhere in Spain.

I did find in most places that the default tea (probably because they are a nation of coffee drinkers) is green. I like white tea, so te negra con leche is key, otherwise they stick milk in green tea and that is quite disgusting

Haha. Yes. I had my experience with green tea wth milk in Hong King. Asians like it. I definitely don’t.

Take the tea bags for emergency, but I have found that every where sells tea in pots and by the cup.
 
I have the same strategy every time:
To curb the Café Cortado overload, I alternate btw cofee and tea breaks,
At some places tea is for little old ladies in tiny cups, so ask for a large glass, and ask, kindly, for a tea bag.
Most cafés have....
50 % will swear that the glass will break and they dramatically insert a long spoon to take the heat and cover their eyes, you galantly offer to refund the cost of the glass, and hey presto hot water from the steamer on the coffee brewer, and you´ve got 400 mls of brew..

Next, take a picture of the result and show the staff next time around....

Thnx everyone. Think I’ll rely on Spain providing. Saves me a little space in my bag n actions to keep them dry.

Had no trouble getting tea, milk however in some places was another story so got used to drinking it black. I do bring a few teabags for mornings. If there is a cup, water and a microwave I can make a cuppa. Real frustrating when there is only 2 out of three though :). By the way, if you stop in Rabanal, go to Refugio Gaucelmo. Kt is run by the British Confraternity (CSJ). Everyday they serve afternoon tea on the lawn. Not to be missed if you like a cuppa. The best tea on the camino
