Tent poles as carry on baggage

Lots of stuff on here about walking poles, and of course, regular tent poles would be the same (no-no for carry on)
But, has anyone tried to pack the short,bendy carbon fibre tent poles in their carry on bag?
Also, metal tent pegs - anyone tried these through security?

I'm afraid that won't work. All of the above are pointy and/or can be used to poke people in the eye with (as mentioned in an earlier thread), and so will be classed as potential weapons. Checking them can be expensive, I'd rather pack them small and send them by post to the first accommodation or even poste restante.

Having flown recently in Europe I can tell you that airport security is very strict just now and very thorough. I wouldn't dream of trying to carry-on tent poles or metal tent pegs. Buen Camino, SY

Yes, I am well aware of the regs.
Just wished to know if any one had tried it.
Airports differ, as I've already posted on another thread.
For example: I have carried bamboo poles inside rucsac through a certain European airport - NOT Santiago!! - without problem, and merely curious as to whether anyone had attempted the thin bendy CF poles.
So, looks like I will have to test the system myself, next year.

At least two Canadian airports have not minded (on more than one occasion) folding z-pole hiking poles. So I would imagine they also would not have minded the less pointy fold-up tent poles.
