Teva sandal sizes

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances 2008, half Via del Plata 2011, Camino Fisterra 2011, Camino Aragones 2013.
I can't get the sandals I want (Teva Terraluxe) where I live so am looking at buying them online (I like the look of http://www.peregrinoteca.com ). However I have never worn these sandals before so am a bit worried about getting them too big/small. I'm an 8/42.

Anyone got any relevant experience? And while I'm at it, any opinions on teva terraluxe as Camino "evening wear" or walking footwear for the flatlands of Castilla?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I have no experience of Teva sandals I'm afraid, but I would be very wary of buying any footwear that I have not previously tried on in the correct size.

The advantage of a good pair of walking sandals is that they can temporirily replace your boots if you are suffering from the heat, blisters etc.

I tried dozens of pairs of boots (and had previously bought two other pairs that seemed perfect in the shop but never really became comfortable to wear over long distances) before finally buying the perfect pair which were actually a size and a half larger than my normal shoe size.

Buying without trying sounds a bit hit and miss to me - could end being an expensive mistake!

Good luck!

I am walking the Via de la Plata in nothing but Tevas right now (I am in Zamora) and love them. I did half the CF last year in them, no complaints. I went to a local store and they did not have the ones I wanted so I ordered online and they were perfect. You can always send them back if not the same size. SOme of these online stores will have sizing charts.
Have fun

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
I used one pair of Teva Trail Wraptor sandals in Oct-Nov, 2005 on Camino Frances from France to Finisterre with absolutely no problem and VdlP in Nov-Dec 2007 in another pair. They are my hiking footwear of choice

Does anybody cycle in teva sandals or similar (with toe protection)? Seems a nice airy possibility? For those of us without lycra and toe clips/cleats etc, of course.

Good morning.
If your size is 8 UK, I think you must choose a bigger size for the sandals: 9 UK. the californianTeva sandals are not so big and the trekking sandals must be bigger than your feet. Perhaps half pound between your toe and the end of your sandal. Somewhere i could about one more pound that your foot but I think it isd too much.
I saw the web you spoke about and it is very interesting. Merrel and Teva are the best companys of sandals in the world. I think, and I could read something about this in sports mountain magazines. but I couldn´t never seen so many differents models like in http://www.peregrinoteca.com.
Best regards.

I used Tevas on my first big camino in 2001, but I´ve upgraded to a brand of trail shoe called Ahnu. I get all the support and lightweight I got from Teva, but without the bad smells and the exposed toes. These ones offer a lot more protection, and they don´t tend to pick up little stones so much. I buy the usual shoe size, and have no complaints.

If you want to read customer reviews and comparisons check out the website for Mountain Outfitters. (That´s where I buy my Ahnus.)
