The Camino , a journey to live on for a lifetime

I was fortunate enough to walk the Camino Frances twice and the memory of that journey lives within me everyday. My thanks to all the pilgrims I met along the way ; also to the many volunteers at the Refugio's that had a bed for me each night .

A common sermon along the Camino is that the Camino is a metaphor for life.
And that we are to take the lessons of the Camino we walked into the Camino of life.

Thankfulness is one of the lessons we are to practice.

Buen Camino.

I can't agree more. I walked the Camino towards the end of last year. It was my first time and I have no plans to do it again (for all sorts of reasons including family responsibilities) but I think about my Camino everyday.

I try to recall how my outlook on many things changed along the route and I do my utmost to incorporate those lessons that I learned in my day-to-day life.

For me, it was truly the experience of a life-time and I keep going back to it to extract all the good that it did for me.

I feel a bit like a chipmunk, feeding off all the goodies that I keep in my cheeks long after I'd first partaken of them!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Well, an American I met last year is back later this year to start from Vezelay in France.

We walked for a few days in Galicia in each other's company and we entered Santiago together on a bright and sunny Saturday morning. To glimpse the cathedral for the first time and to know that we were nearing the end of our journey was truly inspirational and oh so joyful!

I hope to spend about a week walking with her in France as it's where I live but the whole route is not possible in the forseeable future. But, in many ways, I don't feel I need to do it all again.

"Unforgettable" is a tough word when one's memory is getting poorer by the year but I can't think of a better word to describe the most wonderful six and a half weeks that I spent on the Camino.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Sure.
There's no need to "do it all again" of course. But if you liked it and you live in France, you might want to walk some of the many Chemins de St Jacques in France or in your area.
