I will be walking the Cistercian Way around Wales in September and October. Details here:

https://pilgrimpace.wordpress.com/2016/07/16/the-cistercian-way/

Will be interesting if I pick up any traces of Santiago. I'm starting and finishing at Penrhys which was the major Marian Shrine in South Wales before the Reformation. With a diversion to St Davids, I am expecting to walk about 750 miles

If anyone lives in Wales, give me a shout!

I'm just over the border close to Gloucester.

I looked at your website/blog. I'm walking on the Camino until 12 October, but - just a thought - maybe I could bring you a picnic lunch on Sunday 16th as it looks like you could be somewhere near-ish me then.

Whatever happens, may I wish you the very best of luck in walking the Welsh Cistercian Way.

Thanks Julia - that would be brilliant.
There will be an event at Tintern the day before which I'm sure you'd be welcome to attend.

Tintern is a very special, spiritual, and dare I say magical? - place. I love it.

I will have to work on Saturday 15th. But according to your website you will be in Abergavenny on the 15th, and not in Tintern until Tuesday 18th...

brain into gear!
You are right!
Thanks - Tintern on the 18th - come to that too

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I'd love to, but having had the previous 2 weeks off work to be walking on the Camino, I won't be able to take another day so soon.
Nearer the time, let me know where you think you might be on Sunday 16th, and I will bring you an English version of bocadillo, tortilla and some vino tinto or cerveza, and maybe join you for a few km.

I will be travelling to Wales in a day or two and start walking on Saturday (there will be a bunch of us walking from Penrhys on Saturday, after which I go solitary, you are welcome to join us on Saturday).
I will be blogging the pilgrimage here:

Please let me know if you have anything you want me to pray for

Am back home rather sooner than expected with an injured knee. It flared up when I was staying with the Cistercian sisters at Whitland. When you get a deputation of medically trained nuns telling you to Stop Walking Now, you know the injury is not just in the mind. Have seen the doctor. If all goes well with healing, I may be able to finish off the last section from Abergavenney to Penrhys in a month's time. We shall see.

It's a great route though. Will be section hiking the rest as I get time over the next years.
And now for a sedentary pilgrimage - plenty of time to pray and read and reflect

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
