The VdlP landscape in May

Time of past OR future Camino
2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017,2018, (2019)
Having walked my previous caminos in the 'green' of spring, or in the winter months, I have yet to fulfil my wish to walk through stretches of those 'classic' sun-bleached fields often seen in photos taken in the hot, summer season. While I appreciate that my upcoming Camino also starts in the spring-time, I'm curious to learn my chances of experiencing a straw-coloured vista at any point along the VdlP route during the month of May.

When I walked it in May it was gloriously green.
When I walked it in June it was dry and brown and hot and the fountains were dry in many places.
Thanks Annie, I guess I may have to check my schedule to see if I can walk more slowly. Alternatively, I may be forced to try a later month next time.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

May was beautifully green and fresh last year, with an abundance of spring flowers.

Feel free to take a look at my blog - Camino Mozarabe (from Malaga) for lots of photos of the VdlP from Mérida - link below...

There were a few freshly ploughed fields that were very brown. It is surprising how that got me down, and how my spirits lifted immediately when the scenery changed back to green.

I’m at Almadén de la Plata at the moment, and my options for tomorrow are to go as far as El Real de la Jara (approx 14km) or continue on to Monesterio (approx 34km). 34 km is a bit far for day 4...
