Toronto Meeting on Saturday, October 31

Fall meeting of the Toronto chapter at Beach United Church on Saturday, October 31.

The program has sessions for both new and returning pilgrims and provides lots of opportunity for informal networking. Organizers are asking for $15 to cover expenses and coffee and snacks, but suggest you bring your lunch so that you can participate in the full program. Local restaurants are available.

Agenda:
Doors open at 9:00 with registration and coffee until 9:30.
Morning session:
New pilgrims: "Day in the life of a pilgrim” presentation and returning pilgrims will unpack their packs to show you what they carried
Returning pilgrims: “Unpacking your Camino”, the Hospitalero experience, and, where to walk next - comparison of the French and Spanish Caminos
Table Talk session on: guide books, hiking boots and equipment, health issues, training for your camino, biking the camino, women walking alone, how to take great pictures, how to blog, bed bugs and blisters.

Afternoon session:
Distribution of RAFFLE PRIZES!! Proceeds from the raffle allow us to support Camino albergues.
Showing of Concordia University’s Matthew Anderson’s documentary "Something Grand.” Matthew climbed over the Pyrenees with groups of pilgrims on the 800-km walk to Santiago and asked them 'why are you doing this?’
If you have equipment that doesn’t work for you, please donate it to our Used Stuff Table. Books, socks, packs, poles, whatever! Proceeds from the sale of donated items will go towards our support of Camino albergues.
Vendor Area. If you would like to have space in this area for showing your pictures, selling items, etc. email Pat Buchanan at patbuchanan00@gmail.com. Space is limited.

Beach United Church is at 140 Wineva Ave, in the first block north of Queen Street E.
TTC options: - #501 Queen streetcar line, eastbound, Wineva is 9 blocks east of Woodbine, and close to the eastern end of the line, (25 minutes from Yonge). - Main #64 Bus southbound from Main Station to Queen and Wineva (7 minutes).
For drivers, Wineva is one-way southbound toward Queen. There are parking lots in the vicinity as well as street parking. Please keep in mind there is only 3 hour street parking on City Streets unless otherwise posted.

I will be there. I am spending the night in Monte do Goso! 36 days so far and tomorrow I enter the Santiago Cathedral on Dsy 37!!!
