Dear pilgirms, on Wednesday I am arriving at Biarritz Airport and unfortunately at the same time the last train leaves to SJPP. I tried to find some bus connection but I did not find any. Anyone else in the same situation? I do not know if there is any other option, or if I just need to spend the night in Biarritz and then go with the first morning train to SJPP (arrives at 8:40 AM) and continue walking valcalros road right after buying the credential in Pilgrims office. I think taxi would be so expensive for me. Thank you for your advise!

The Biarritz/Bayonne airport is at Anglet. Take the bus from the airport to the Bayonne rr station marked Bayonne SNCF. Spend the night in Bayonne at a simple hotel near the station.
In Bayonne the
Hotel Monte Carlo is good inexpensive choice located opposite the rr station. Nice cafe and resto also. Here is their web .

In the morning take the first local TER train from Bayonne to SJPdP .

Buen camino!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Great advice there to get to SJpP.... Why not stay the night there as it is a charming French village catering for all things pilgrimage? I met most important new friends on day 1 at SJpP albergues each time I nervously started my Caminos.
Also to get into the beautiful Valcarlos albergue go to the local bar for the code...
Buen Camino
Love

I too was going to say to take the bus to Bayonne and stay at the Hotel Monte Carlo then go by bus or train to SJPDP in the morning. As a matter of fact we did that this past spring and some of the people we met at the bus line at the airport we randomly ended up at the same restaurant and kept meeting on the Way, from before day 1 till the last day we ended up in Santiago the same day too. Such good memories.

I second taking the bus to Bayonne. I like the hotel Côte Basque and it is right next to the station to take first train in the morning (at the moment, €44 for a double room).
Lots of nice places to eat in Bayonne, too. :)

There are usually pilgrims on the same plane . Many get together and spend 20 euro each on a public big taxi ( if you have a few of you ) . If you can't do this then there are many air b n b and hostels in biarritz that wont be full this time of year . I would wait till you see who is on the plane and have a few contacts for accommodation handy

There is a minibus service you can book to take you from the airport to SJPP. Can’t remember what they’re called but look them up x
