The coastal route to Oia is much easier than the mountain way. We went the mountain way from the ferry terminal and it was moderate to almost difficult. For a real treat, we stayed in Oia, Spain at Casa Puertas and one of the three sister owners speaks perfect French and English. Buen Camino

There are buses from Vigo to A Guarda, but the schedule is a bit inconvenient. I would recommend to check Blablacar, a ride sharing service very popular in Spain. I've used it to travel from Santiago to a Coruña and it works really well, also cheap.
