Transport from Figeac to Toulouse

Oporto to Santiago ( June 2009)
Le Puy to Figeac (Sept. 2013)
Figeac to Aire sur l'Adour (Sept./Oct 2015)
We are starting from Le Puy on September 19th and hoping to reach Figeac in 12 days. We will then get a train to catch flight back from Toulouse. Is it necessary to book on the trains? Or can one just buy a train ticket at the station for the next available train? I am not familiar with the French transport system. Thank you all. The forum has been invaluable in planning our 'camino'.

cait,

There are several trains each day from Figeac to Tessonieres to Toulouse. Generally at Tessonnieres rr station you change to a bus (autocar) for the onward journey. Total travel time is roughly 3 hours. There is no need to book these local connections in advance as long as you are not traveling on a holiday. For more info see the SNCF web >> http://www.voyages-sncf.com.

Bon Voyage,

Margaret Meredith
