Le Puy to Santiago
Hi,
Walked from le Puy to Conques last Agust and was fortunate enough to be met in Conques by friends who drove me to Montpelier for a visit and then train trip to Brugges.
However I am wanting to start in Conques to walk to SJDP last Saturday in May. Timing is restricted.
Any idea of the best way to get to Conques. Alternatively I will train it to Figeac if necessary.

I bet there may be easier routes, but you could look into flying to Rodez and then cabbing. I am leaving from Conques a week before you in May and I am taking a cab from Rodez. (I fly into Toulouse and will train to Rodez) I emailed Lamallepostale.com and they confirmed they could do the taxi service. Looks like they also pick up from other cities in the area. Couple years ago, after we walked to Conques, we used them as cab service to the Rodez airport and flew back to Paris. The flight was cheaper than the train fare and took about 75 minutes. I think we paid $60 per ticket. The cab ride was about 50 euro and it took about 30 minutes, but there were 2 of us and overall it was still affordable and relatively quick. Tiny airport. Rome2Rio.com is a great resource tho for other options
