Hi everybody.
I hope to walk my second stage of the norte in september. I will end this stage in Oviedo as i want to walk the primitivo as my last stage.

I will be flying to Bilbao and start walking from Santander.

My questions are : how easy and frequent are the busses from Bilbao ( airport) to Santander and from Oviedo back to Bilbao( airport).
Are they on time and are they bussy so must i reserve a seat well beforehand or can i buy a ticket the same day?

I remember there are frequent busses between Bilbao and Santander( from Oviedo I don't know)You can look at the Rome2 Rioside. ( If you walk from Santander I would recommend taking the alternative route along the coast, it is beautifull and avoids the not so pretty walk to Boo de Pielagos. It is not marked but there are descriptions of it on this forum)

Unfortunately i can't fly to santander or at least it will be a long flight. There are no planes going direct to santander from the area that I live.

Hi! The company to look at is called Alsa. They have lots of trips between Bilbao and Santander daily. They also have buses to/from Oviedo but less so.

The website is quite user friendly so you could put in approx dates and see how many services are running and prices.

How full they get depends on the time day, day of the week etc. So Sunday afternoon/evening, for example, do fill up as people return home etc.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi.There is a regular bus service from Bilbao Airport A3247 to the bus station(Bilbao Intermodal) It runs about every 20 mins and you can catch it at the last exit out of the airport. It costs 3 euros, but you will need to wear a mask on all public transport, unless the rules change. There are regular busses to Santander with Alsa coach company. Just download the Alsa App, it will give you all the timetables. You can either book in advance or buy your ticket on the day at the bus Station. Buen Camino

Last May I walked the first part of the Norte in the opposite direction, from Santander to Irun. Since I only had two weeks and couldn't reach Santiago anyway, I wanted to swim against the tide...
I thought I had this all figured out, but I have ended up with 2 train tickets from San Sebastian (I don't even know if it's the airport or the town) to Irun, instead of ONE that goes all the way...
Tomorrow I fly to Bilbao to start my 5th stint on the Camino. I did the Frances in three parts (2016, 2017 and 2022). Last year I did the Portuguese from Porto. I did the first 200 km of the...
I use Alltrails a lot here in the US, in Iceland, on the Via Podiensis and a bit on the CF. Will it be useful on the Norte? For example, people here say the "warm up" from Biarritz to Irun (or...
