The title of the thread is misleading. Barca isn't Barcelona. Barca is the name of several towns in Spain but not the name of Barcelona. Barça (not Barca either) is the name of one of the soccer teams of Barcelona but, obviously, the city isn't one of its soccer teams and no local would call the city Barça (not to say Barca).
In order to go from Burgos to Barcelona, you can take a bus with Alsa (www.alsa.es/en) or a train with RENFE (www.renfe.com).

Hi Jacquie, my choice would be by train. There are 3 daytime departures (8.21, 12.52, 15.08), plus an overnight 'trenhotel' at 2.17am. All take around 6 hours. You can check the times and make reservations on renfe.es
