Anybody familiar with trains/buses on this journey. I will be flying into Santander on a Sunday at lunchtime and need to reach Oviedo to stay in an albergue that night. Are buses/trains regular?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Hola Pat. The FEVE train leaves Santander at 16.10 and arrives in Oviedo at 20.40 (approx). If you book into a hostal be sure to tell them that you are coming by train and the arrival time so that they hold your room. Same is true if you travel by bus.
You can check train time here, http://www.renfe.com/viajeros/feve/horarios.html The cost is given as 16.05€
The bus and train stations are adjacent in Santander so you could decide when you arrive. They are also near one another in Oviedo.
We like the train as it is quite scenic and has onboard toilet. We take some food and drink and enjoy the ride.
In Oviedo we have stayed in the pension opposite the rail station very pilgrim friendly but do book it if you want to stay there. E-mail and phone numbers on the website, but the booking form is not on the English page.
Hostal Oviedo, Calle Uria, next door to the Cafe Cristina - (good place for breakfast). Ring the appropriate bell, the hostal is on the 2nd floor.
