Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hey there Sonia

I'm looking at this one from Webjet - seems pretty comprehensive and not too expensive especially compared to others I've seen and been quoted on:
http://www.etiaustralia.com.au/webjet/w ... spx?plan=a
my quote when I filled out the online form was $184 for the period 20/4/08-06/06/08 - it changes if you put a wider date range.

I was quoted about $270 from the agent I booked my ticket through (Flight Centre), the cover was not quite as good but I think he said it covers you for 12 months. Not sure if that's better, I could see it would be handy if your flight was cancelled or something like that.

I haven't bought insurance yet so if you get something better I'd be keen to know about it.

cheers
Megan

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Hi Sonia,

I'm a member of Medibank so used their travel insurance, think it cost around $250. When I bought it I mentioned I would be walking in Europe and was told that I'd be fully covered should anything happen.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi Ladies,

Thanks for replying.

Originally I was going to purchase my insurance through 1cover.com.au for $195, I've now decided to book through the company Megan suggested, by doing so, I'll be saving $14 which will allow me to buy ear plugs....

HI Sonia,
I don't really know if you were talking travel insurance (for flights, luggage, etc) or medical insurance.... but in Spain treatment in public hospitals is free. I had occasion to take a student and later myself to the hospital.

I picked up an infection on the Camino... I'm guessing it was because I wear contact lenses and probably touched a faucet or something...while putting in my lenses. It wasn't serious, just needed to be treated and I couldn't get perscription over the counter. I went to the hospital in Santiago where I received excellent treatment and kept looking for a place to pay... but you don't pay! Totally beyond comprehension for anyone from the USA!

Buen Camino,
