With all the current travel problems with air travel. What form of transport are uk and Irish pilgrims using to get to Porto
We are thinking of going with Ryan air in September but would need to put our packs in the hold which we are not keen on. Rail seems costly and baggage forwarding is £30 plus €60 import tax

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!

It sounds a bit pot luck at the moment. I flew to Saint Jean Pied du Port à week ago with Easyjet (with hold luggage due to walking poles) and hope to fly back from Santander to Stansted Monday week. Be careful if swapping companies! Easyjet allow 23kg but Ryanair 20 (we didn't need that much but worth knowing). In September, I will be flying Easyjet from Nantes to Porto and have a 15kg reservation ;I hope they fly!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
If you are planning to travel from the UK to Porto overland rather than by air then it will probably be much more expensive than flying or take a very long time! If you want cheap then have you considered Flixbus? Very cheap but also very long and personally I'd rather take my chances on checking in my pack with an airline. Or take only cabin baggage and buy any cabin-banned items such as trekking poles or a knife on arrival in Portugal.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
