Travel within Spain

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
There are already quite a bit of posts discussing this topic, although something new may arise from a new discussion! I took the train from the Barcelona Airport (BCN) to Barcelona Sants Bus & Train Station. There you have the option of either bus or train to Pamplona. The bus worked better for me because I was just dropped off where I needed to be for the next transfer, Pamplona-SJPDP which I went with Express Bouricott, shared van. I contacted Caroline by email and made the reservation. She picked about 12 of us at 4pm Pamplona Train Station and out we went straight to SJPDP. I believed the local Pamplona taxi companies somehow forced Caroline out, but that she was trying to restablish the route again. Express Bouricott has a website; check the status if interested. There is also a bus that takes you from Pamplona to Roncesvalles. Then, at the pilgrim's complex at Roncesvalles there are hotels and and an Office of Tourism that calls taxis for those pilgrims looking for shared rides to SJPDP. Recently, a third option has become quite popular; an overnight stay in/near Pamplona at Corazon Puro Inn. They picked you up at the bus or train station, feed you, provide lodging, and then drive you to SJPDP early the next morning. Highly recommended by those who have tried them. Only caveat I see is that SJPDP is definitely worth an exploration, That could be resolved by a late start from SJPDP with an overnight stay at Orisson.

From Madrid Airport (Barajas) take the bus to Pamplona or take the train to Atocha or Chamartin and then train to Pamplona. See above for Pamplona- SJPDP.
