Travelling from Barcelona to Somport to start Camino

A guide to speaking Spanish on the Camino - enrich your pilgrim experience.
Hi!
You could walk from Barcelona...The Camino Catalán begins at the Monastery of Montserrat just a short distance north of Barcelona and meets up withthe Francés in Logroño. I was in Monsterrat last weekend and got a lovely guidebook. It is in Spanish though...

Buen Camino,

That's what I did, at least to Jaca, and then I suppose you could go up to Somport by local bus and then walk back again.

Still, if you want to start out walking from Somport, you could take the train to Canfranc. Renfe goes from Barcelona to Zaragossa in an hour and a half, and you could then take a local train (3h45min) from Zaragossa to Canfranc through Jaca. Somport is just up the hill from Canfranc. There is likely a Barcelona-Jaca bus, but I couldn't find it.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
