LOL Julia, you mean they drive on the correct side of the road...lol. See you in JulyIt's not a difficult drive (not even on the wrong side for you!), and car rental for a day is about the same as a tour.
I did it 3 weeks ago. Picked up the car in town (10am), drove to Muxia, had coffee in town, walked around a bit, drove up to the lighthouse and church (wonderful) then on to Fisterra via the waterfall. Lunch in Fisterra and a drive up to the lighthouse there. And back to Santiago for 6pm.
www.economycarrentals.com are brokers and have good prices. Otherwise ask at your hotel or albergue if they can advise about local car rental.
I posted the bus schedule in this thread some weeks ago. There are only two buses a day, so it doesn't really work out.
