Time of past OR future Camino
2014, 2016, 2018, 2024
Whether to begin the last week of May or the last week of August for the continuation of my 2016 camino from Estella. Thoughts? My main consideration is the weather, then number of pilgrims on the camino.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Every season has his charm.
I prever to walk April/May and my wife prever walking in September.

At the end you and you alone have to make the decission.

Wish you well,Peter.

We enjoyed May very much, temperature was very enjoyable and fields were the greenest shade of green I've ever encountered. Crowds were not bad until Sarria'ish and we could count on one hand the number of rain days we encountered during April/May. Of course that was last year and we all know weather predictions should have a few grains of salt sprinkled over them!

I've walked 3 times end of May/early June....great weather all 3 times (a bit warm but I live in FL so no issue for me) Never found the crowds too much.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

That's what I'm leaning towards. In 2016 I started then and had good weather too.

Thanks for all the replies!:)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If you've already seen spring on the CF, why not try fall? I have walked both September/October and April/May and much prefer the fall. My preferences may not be the same as yours. I dislike hot weather and preferred to walk out of it, rather than toward it. I liked having more growth in the forests and vineyards. The wildflowers weren't as special to me as raging vines and brush by the roadside.

And this is why I'm conflicted, I do not like the heat either. Having said that June 2016 was okay, a couple of hot days (26-30) but that was all. Decisions, decisions! Thanks for your reply.
