We are looking to add 2 days to our walk. Looking for a place to start before Sarria and how to get there. We will be coming from Madrid. Thank you.

New Original Camino Gear Designed Especially with The Modern Peregrino In Mind!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
How about Pedrafita do Cebreiro? You can get there by ALSA bus then walk a few km up the road to O Cebreiro and join the Camino Frances there. About one day of walking to Triacastela and another to Sarria.
Definitely my suggestion as well. This is very beautiful country around O Cebreiro and being high up it means that you start your Camino walking gently down hill.IMG_20190629_090719426.jpg

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Thank you for the suggestion.
You can walk from Triacastela to Sarria on two different paths. They are both really pretty. The Camino through Samos is 7k longer. If you are walking in the winter months the hostels/albergues that are run by the monasteries are closed. You can walk a short day to Samos and then a second short day to Sarria or if you choose and it is not winter walk a little further to avoid the crowds in Sarria.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Definitely via Samos, plus the walk into Sarria is lovely and tranquil from there.

If you could get to Tricastella and walk to Samos one day and then to Sarria the next, that would be nice. The walk into Samos is lovely and seeing the monastery there is special too. The walk from Samos to Sarria - so-so.

I understand there are two ways out of Samos, I've only ever taken the pleasant one, but I believe there is another which is mainly road walking. If you take the nice little country lanes, its a beautiful walk, both the walk in and out of Samos, I rate as the two nicest days on the Camino. Until of course you reach the road where you join up with the other trail from Triacastela.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
