La Voz de Galicia today reports of two pilgrims that just got married after finishing their camino de Santiago.

Hermann Koch and Danuta Gottwald (from Austria) biked the camino in 2002.

This year, they did the camino again, this time from Burgos walking. They got married in "capilla de la Corticela" in a ceremony in castellano, latin and german. The guests at the wedding were fellow pilgrims that they had meet on their walk from Burgos. Both Hermann and Danuta walked down the isle with their pilgrim staffs.

How sweet! First there was a post-pilgrimage baptism, now a post-pilgrimage wedding...I wonder if there will ever be a post-pilgrimage funeral ;-)

Heaven knows we have had far too many pilgrim deaths on the Camino this year.

marriage

When working as a hospitaleros in Rabanal during May 2 pilgrims actually got married in the church. They had already had the civil ceremony but wanted also to have the religious service. The service was attended by pilgrims. A great event for the Camino.
