Updated list of open Albergues

Hi everyone, my apologies if this question has been addressed recently.
In light of Covid restrictions continuing indefinitely, is there an actively updated list of open albergues that includes restrictions (I.e.- book ahead, reduced numbers of bookings accepted, no dinners, etc.)?
I’m looking at the Portuguese and Frances routes (with fingers crossed) beginning July, solo. (The Porto route only if they open borders as Spain plans to, otherwise starting Astorga from Madrid.)
Thanks in advance for understanding my wishful dreaming!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

I suggest that you get a copy of the Wise Pilgrim App for each route. It has “live commenting” available for walkers who are already out there who may leave the information that you are looking for, and it also provides contact information so that you can get in touch with the locations where you are hoping to stay and make alternate arrangements if necessary.

The "Camino Ninja" app has been quite helpful for me in regards to being updated pretty currently and included if reservations are possible or not! If there are particular places that say they are closed but you are interested in staying, I would suggest reaching out as some seem to be gauging whether they open based on demand.
I am leaving in a couple of weeks for the Frances and decided to book everything last week due to the more limited options this year. I have found albergues to be incredibly responsive via email and whatsapp. It seems that many will be open for you as I have found many places opening just in time for my arrival this month!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

That’s great info, thank you! May I ask which route you are doing? Would love to hear updates along your way!

I'm going with a friend who has never been before so we are walking from Leon to Santiago since we only have a couple weeks off from work! I am interested to see what the demographic will be since it only opens to the US a couple of days before. I met so many Americans last time but I think it will be quite different this year!

Thank you, will definitely check it out.

so true! I don’t have enough time to do a full route and am still debating which to take- might stick to Frances since I feel there will be more open places to stay - hopefully. I’ve done Sarria-Finesterre previously and am sure whatever I do will be completely different considering the circumstances.Hoping to start the beginning of July! Good luck to you!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Best of luck on your walk. I am considering going this summer, but as a solo traveler I have a few more concerns than in a normal year.
In regards to your statement about booking ahead, did you book private rooms or shared space/hostels?
Thanks,
Lynne
PS, Just curious, is your 'name' any connection to the wonderful poet, Mary Oliver? : ) Or coincidence?

We are staying in shared space/hostels!

And yes, you got it :) Mary Oliver is my favorite poet so the 'name' is a tiny homage in gratitude.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
