Hello, I’ll be flying into Porto for the Portuguese Caminho starting 3/30. Can anyone verify whether I’m required to get a covid test? I’m from the USA.
Thank you!

Yes, even if you are fully vaccinated because Portugal doesn't accept the US CDC card.

You can take a PCR or NAAT test up to 72 hours before boarding your first flight, or an antigen test up to 24 before.

a negative RT-PCR Test (or similar NAAT test) - 72h before boarding, or - Or a negative Laboratorial Rapid Antigen Test - 24h before boarding

It looks like most Walgreens stores offer the NAAT test.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I have been reading that this was going to be changing any day now. To eliminate the test. Can you confirm if that's the case?

I can't confirm anything until it's announced by the Portuguese government.
I hope that you are right though, because that would eliminate one thing that I have to do before I leave for Lisbon in May.

I agree. I will only be in-transit through Lisbon, but still require one.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Here's a link to Portugal's tourism website where they discuss entry requirements:

It looks like the US vaccine card is not accepted.

I'm very interested to hear about your upcoming Lisbon - Santiago walk. Perhaps you could start and update a thread and occasionally post your experiences. I'm particularly wondering what it's going to be like in the Lisbon - Porto leg of the journey. Have a great time!!

So, as an update to my previous post, my wife and I are currently about a week into our Camino Portugues route. We arrived into Porto a week ago and found it very interesting that they barely even checked our vaccine status at the airport when we arrived. Not sure if it was because our flight was through Amsterdam or what but they didn't seem too concerned. After getting off the plane and walking to the checkpoint area I began searching through my bag for our proof of negative COVID test but when I looked up I saw my wife flash her US vaccine card and get waved right on through. I stopped searching, showed my card and he waved me through too. Don't know if that happens every time but thought I should share. Buen Camino.
