Valladolid

I thought I share this with you; just booked a ticket from London Stanstead to Valladolid for £10 incl tax with Ryanair. From Valladolid you can get to Leon, Astorga or Burgos really easy (direct bus from the airport), or in my case to Fromista (by train). I think it's one of the lesser known options, but definitely a huge bargain!
And it's ridiculous, but the train ticket from South-London to Stanstead is more expensive than the flight to Spain...

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
That IS a bargain - but watch out for hidden costs.
Anyone flying with Ryanair should remember that all flights which depart after October 1 – including those which have already been booked – must use online check-in at a £5 per flight (so add £10 for a return flight).
From 1st October check-in desks for Ryanair flights were scrapped and passengers need to check in and print their boarding pass between 15 days or four hours before their flight. If you forget to print your boarding pass it will cost £40 Emergency Check in at the airport.
Also ensure that your luggage conforms to the weight restrictions. (Only one piece of hand luggage allowed and you will be charged for checked in luggage)
The cost of checking in a bag has risen from £20 to £30 for a return flight, while the levy on a second bag has increased from £40 to £70.

Valladolid also has a regular bus service to Salamanca and Zamora if you want to pick up the VDLP. The airport bus stops at the bus station and you can be in Salamanca early evening, but Valladolid is worth a visit anyway. Book Ryanair at the right time and they have some good deals, We are going to Girona in November, £48 return for 4 people.
