Plan to do Camino Portuguese in May 1014
Hi
We are doing the Camino from Porto to Santiago in 16 days in May 2014 - a slow one.
We would like to use a variety of pilgrim accomodation including albergues, church hostels/ cathedrals, fire stations, youth hostels ect. Limit on budget per night is 10 Euro, preferably less. Would appreciate same advice on where to stay.

Moreira da Maia
Vilarino
Portela de Tamel
Fitorino de Plaas
Ponte de Lima
Rubiaes
Pedreia
Tui
O Porrino
Redondela
Arcade
Ponteverda
A Portela
Caldas de Reis
Padron
Santiago

Regards, Liaane

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
The albergues at Tui, Redondela, Pontevedra and Padron - and the one just after the Portela Grande mountain (cannot remember name!) were all under your budget. There were a couple of others too - but again my memory is faulty! Portugal was far cheaper than Spain - especially for hot food and wine (essentials!) I think you are doing the right thing taking your time - there is so much rich history and places to visit along this route - I wish you well, Bom Camino!

The municipal albergue in Ponte de Lima is excellent-just walk across the bridge and it's on your right, opens at 3pm as I recall. Ponte de Lima is a real jewel, try to spend a little extra time there--you wont regret it.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Casa Fernanda in Vitorino de Piaes just before Ponte de Lima and beyond Barcelos is the best !
This is a privat address but like an albergue. It was our best and we saw a lot of places we slept because we walked from Lisbon.
At some places in Portugal you can sleep at the bombeiros volontarios ,the volontairy firebrigade but we only had one experience in Tomar on the way to Porto

Send me a pm if you want with your emailaddress and I'll send you more information.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Hello,

You have an hostel just 10 minutes from Oporto's Airport. AirPorto Hostel. It's my own hostel, and we have a lot of pilgrims because we are just in the Camino!

Bom Camino!

Marta
