After finishing my first camino in May 2010 using the Via de la Plata route starting from Sevilla I decided to share my experiences and a few tips tips on my blog. Some people have found these quite useful so I would like to share them with you as well.

Via de la Plata FAQs - Camino de Compostela: What to bring and more tips: http://path2yoga.blogspot.com/2010/07/via-de-la-plata-faqs.html

And if you want to read a bit more about my personal experience doing the camino you can read these two blog posts:

Unless I missed it, and if you don't mind, there is an omission in your tips. It is the absolute need to have a credencial if you wish to use refugios.

I apologise in advance if I failed to spot your reference to this.

Thanks Caminando, much appreciated your feedback. How could I have missed that one! :) I'll take a look at it again and try to update it as soon as I can.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Thanks Marco - your tips are comprehensive and well done, so a new pilg might not realise the necessity for the cred.

Marco, thanks for the wonderful report on the Via de la Plata. I´m planning to do this route next year somewhere around middle of May. Keep up with your work. :D

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
