Hello, I am starting the Via de la Plata from Sevilla next Weds May 9th. I am packing my backpack and wondering if I really need to pack a sleeping bag or not. Anyone walked it during this time of year and can tell me? Do the albergues typically provide sufficient bedding? Also if anyone else is starting off that day I would love to meet up. I will be arriving in Sevilla on Monday evening and will have the next day to see the sights. Buen Camino.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hi Daphne I'm on the Via de la Plata now and the weather is crazy. Take a sleeping bag. Some hostels have blankets but no heating.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Just finished. You definitely need a sleeping bag, for instance none of the municipal albergues in Galicia provide them. I saw several cold pilgrims sleeping in their clothes.
