Hello,

I am planning on hiking part of the Via Francigena from Aquapendente to Rome on the 8th or 9th or August with plans to finish around the 16, 17 or 18th.

Does anyone know of any reasonable walking or self guided tours. I hear the path can be quite lonely so this this might be a way to go.

Do you know of the best way to get to Aquapendente, I am coming from London.I saw a 6 hour bus ride from Rome, not looking forward to that.

Also, I hear accommodation can be a real problem, any advice?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

There is plenty of accommodation on that section of the route and you should see a few other walkers too so close to Rome.

The 15th August is Assumption day followed by a Sunday so be careful as many places will be closed.
Thank you for the information!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

You have time to borrow a guide from your local library and do some reading! Or just take a look at some of the blogs/updates in the forum here - I just read through them all this week and found lots of valuable information.

Hello Caminobluzman:

Did you walk the VF as you describe? I am looking into walking from Aquapendente to Rome in early April 2016. Would love to hear of your walk and any tips? I plan to do it independently not using a booking company.

Thanks.
