Via or Mozarabic in April?

I have time off in April and again in July/August. I want to continue the Mozarabic from Guadix towards Merida, and also the Via to Santiago from Salamanca onwards. Does anyone know what the Mozarabic would be like in April? I'm guess July August will be too hot, the bit I did last year in September was a scorcher. Thanks for any ideas :)

In terms of climate, it should be one of the best times of year for the Camino Mozarabe from Guadix. Cooler than September and the scenery should be greener too. Be aware that Holy Week is from 14th to 20th of April. Easter Sunday on 21st of April. Communicate with the associations to ensure that you have places to stay - Granada, Cordoba, and Merida may be packed. Also be aware that stores will be closed on holidays. I suggest that you meet Paco from the association in Guadix before you set off. He will know if there are dates and locations for which you should plan ahead and carry food.

Cheers Raggy, that's great. I know Paco too, he's super helpful. I'd be starting first week of April, so should be well ahead of Cordoba by then.

Our mozarábe mob started in Almería last year on April 12, 13, and 14. I thought the weather was just perfect. If you are lucky, as we were, the spring rain will be over. Last year the first 10 days of April were non-stop rain, but of course that’s no predictor for this year. I´m sure a few drops must have fallen on me between Almería and Salamanca, but I don’t remember any, so it must not have been very much. The wildflowers were simply astonishing at that time of year and because of the months of rain. We were very lucky. Hope you will be too.

In April 2016 I had excellent weather for the Camino Mozarabe from Almeria to Merida. It was never too hot. Some nights were cold in the mountains before Granada. I had some rain but only a few days were really spoiled by the rain.

Thanks guys, so helpful, I think I'm going to keep doing my Mozarabe walk! I believe that after Granada there is another association (not Paco's) does anyone know their details? Any good ideas for guide books please from Granada on?

The albergues all the way to Merida are all listed in the GuĂa, which is regularly updated on the website and facebook page of the Almeria association. (GPS tracks all the way to Merida on the homepage too):

There are associations along the way - but I was not in touch with them when I walked. Some are more active than others - and this can be seen in the number of arrows etc.

There's an active group of francophone friends of the Mozarabic way which can also provide more contacts and information:
