I'm walking the via podiensis in July. I can spend about 15 days in France, can anyone tell me which is the most beautiful part of the camino (beginning, centre, end)? So I can arrange my journey... :)
Thanks!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I think the beginning bit is.... start in Le Puy and walk on as far as you can in that time.... :D

I second Margaret's comments. Starting at the "beginning" will mean that, should you wish to, you could then just pick up the path at a future date. Janet

And I third it. The first part is the most scenic until you actually reach the foothills of the Pyrenees.

Thanks to you all :D
I had a feeling the first part was the best :)
So, I surely will walk at least from Le Puy to Figeac...Anyway, I'm thinking about walking the whole way from Le Puy to SJPdP, if I'll have more time...
Thank you so much again!

There may be parts of days in the Landes which are less scenic, but you are hardly ever without scenery on the Le Puy route. I have a soft spot for the Bearn, which is mentioned less than the other stages for some reason.

Mind you, one can't go wrong starting at Le Puy. I saw the Aubrac Plateau in the worst weather, and I still loved it.

Good luck and bon chemin.

Someone told me that the part from Le Puy to Conques is the most beautiful Camino part of all

@Gabi Wehler the original poster (OP) was asking this in 2011! A bit of a trick for new members - sometimes when you search old threads come up. We keep them because they are very useful for research purposes. As you can see from the OP's avatar she has been on many a camino since 2011.

But I can attest, all of the Le Puy route is beautiful, perhaps the Célé Valley the most.

A special thank you to Dave Whitson for his shortcuts on the GR 65. We had a beautiful day walking by the river Lot into Cahors instead of the regular route. It takes a lot of work to create...
