I came across this little snippet, so for any pilgrims stranded in Dublin, you could give a couple of hours on your knees.

That does sound like some kind of “penance” for anyone in need of one this season of Lent.

I‘m sure experts were involved in this decision-making, but i still find myself shuddering when I think of what damage a spackle knife might do to some of those old tiles. And I’m sure sorry I didn’t see this old cathedral when I was in Dublin a few years ago. Guess I’ll just have to go back.

PS - @Kanga, there are cushiony soft carpenter knee pads one can use for this job. They’re good too for keeping one’s knees clean while working in the garden.

I agree K. I would need 10 cm of padding for each knee, an a 10 min rest each 30 mins so my productivity would not be very high!
