Ender and his Salvador group have organized another (now annual) romeria (pilgrimage walk) up to the cross on the Salvador. Here are the details if anyone reading happens to be in the neighborhood and wants to experience this, it should be wonderful.

Saturday, August 10 -- meet at the main square of Poladura de la Tercia at 10 am
Walk with the group up to the cross (surely, one of the most beautiful parts of any camino anywhere)
The descent will be via Viadongos (not on the camino), with a visit to a museum about milk production. Then at 2 pm comes the wine, the dances, and the queimada.

Oh would that I could be there!!!!! Laurie

Laurie, this sounds like a nice day outing. Does Ender do this every year?

Ender's facebook page shows a news article from the León paper, with a picture of the group by the Poladura albergue. Looks like about 50 people, and it seems like a good time was had by all.

I heard it from the horse's mouth. The walk will be August 14. I would absolutely love to be there and Ender says we are all welcome. Lots of food and feasting are also involved.
Thank you so much Laurie! This definitely influences my walking plans this summer.
