Time of past OR future Camino
April 2019
Hello! My husband and I are beginning our Camino from St. Jean on April 3. We plan to walk all the way to Finisterre and have given ourselves a month and a half to complete our journey. We can't wait to start in a few weeks - posting this to see if anyone else will be starting around that time. We are actually doing this for our honeymoon trip, we met in Spain and felt this was the only proper way to celebrate!

If anyone has any tips or information for us on walking in April, we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Enjoy your moon of honey.

What a wonderful way to begin your lives together.

Only tip: relish springtime on the way.

Buen camino.

Hi, whittlecb, and a warm welcome to the Forum. :)

There are a lot of resources for those looking for tips and information, so you are in the right place. Here are a few suggestions which may be of help:
  1. Make a list of questions and concerns that you have.
  2. Go to the Search Engine at the top of the Forum pages.
  3. Enter the words or phrase that you want more information about. You will get a huge amount of information to explore.
  4. If you find that you need help with anything, post a new thread so that your question or concern can be readily seen. If you post a question within someone else's thread, you won't receive as big of a response.
Although each season of each year is different with regard to weather on Camino Frances, the average number of rainy days during April seems to lie between 12 to 20; the lesser number along the area of the Meseta, and the higher number from SJPdP and then again in Galicia.

So be prepared mentally and physically for wet weather, just as you will for dry and sunny days. Then enjoy the totality of your Camino experience regardless of the weather.

Welcome at SJPP. The volunteers of the pilgrims office are waiting for you. Don't forget to go there for your first stamp and all advice that you need to start your Camino. Buen Camino !

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

My wife and I are starting our first Camino around the same time. Hopefully, weather permitting, on April 1st when the Napoleon route opens. We will probably see you two at the start or somewhere down the road as we are in no rush. Happy honeymoon and buen Camino!
