Hello all,
I hope to start walking grom Guillena on Friday 15th April. I have been reading about safety issues, and wonder if anyone else will be in Guillena on evening of Thursday 14th? I believe I will be staying in Hostal Bar Frances.

Maybe I could meet up and walk a bit with somebody on Friday morning, to used to the feeling of being safe again! I can walk quietly, or chat, or just walk in sight of somebody. I am not a superwoman, so not superfast. I come from Ireland via Glasgow and Edinburgh.

I think that the issues you're talking about had taken place in the outskirts of Sevilla and the author has been jailed. I'm pretty sure that you wont have problem leaving Guillena. By the way, i'll start from Sevilla 15 days after you, so i can't really help.
Buen camino!

Hi Ane
I walked from Seville to Guillena 10 days ago. There were other pilgrims around. You will probably meet other pilgrims at the roman ruins at Italica. And then you could walk with them or just follow them.
Buen camino

I have walked the route this year, I actually had my dinner in Hostel Frances there should be plenty of pilgrims around. At dinner if you have it in Hostel Frances there will probably be pilgrim from the Municipal Albergue eating there, you could arrange to team up with them in the morning. There may even be other pilgrims staying in H. Frances Just enjoy your special trip.

One route looks a bit steeper, one a bit longer (not much). How else are they different? Recommendations?
