I’m looking for a guide book & maps in English language for walk from Paris to St John Pied de Port. Anyone can help me with this please....

Thank you so much for this info. I have read all of peregrinations blogs. My problem is the route I want to take is same as peregrinations so need info on where to walk from Paris to Tours.
I’ve sent an email to UK Confraternity but no reply yet due to the holiday break.
I’ll read up on pudgypilgrim.
I’ve often seen your posts helping others so feel privileged to have your assistance.

Thank you Jodi. This book is from St Jean to Santiago. I really need an English guide book from Paris to St John. I have a book from SJ to Santiago already. I have found many books but they are all in French & I can’t speak it. Thanks for your help though

Hi Gesha. I have walked this route in 2015, in fact I started in Brussels. From Paris you would have to head for the 'Voie de Tours', the Tours route. The first thing you will have to decide is if you want to travel by Chartres or via Orleans - we went by Orleans.

Hi Gesha. I have walked this route in 2015. So I have a few bits and pieces. Once you get to Tours, it's simple. Plenty of guides on the Tours way. Before that you will have to decide on leaving Paris, whether you go by Orleans or Chartres. Both are possible. Thanks Arch, they walked from Paris on the first day, then took the train. I can see that that may be an option.

Thank you so much for all this info. It’s been very helpful. I’ve managed to borrow some books off Janet in Adelaide and have now ordered two of my own. I’ll try to walk out of Paris and use the French guides as well as google maps. Janet suggested via Chartres would be a good option which I’m still considering. Once again this forum & the way has provided xx

Thanks Jodi, although the mention that it’s possible to walk from Paris, I think this book only gives information from St John to Santiago. Thank you for your help.

I’d like to walk out of Paris via Orleans. Did you go that way or through Chartres? Which would you recommend? I’ve found a guide that’s in French (La void de Tours Le Chemin vers l’Atlantique) which has a fairly good map going out of Paris and I have made some google maps although they take all roads, not pathways or green belts.
If you have any advice I’m open to suggestions. Thank you again
