I am intending to leave Seville on 24th August 2017 on the vdlp to Santiago. Is anyone going planning the same departure?

Thanks SY. I know it will be hot probably for first few weeks. I'm packing very light (6.5 kg) and aiming to have 3litres of water on board for the longer stages where there are no opportunities to refill.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Joe,

I will be on the Sanabrés and going through Ourense about September 18th arriving in Santiago about 23 September. Depending on your pace we may meet.

Buen Camino and safe travels!

I'm leaving from Pamplona on August 22nd are paths may cross perhaps near our destination

Mike,
Thanks for reply. I would probably say that it is unlikely I will reach Ourense as early as the 18th September considering the heat at that time. However, one never knows! Will keep an eye out for you.

Buen Camino

Hi JN,
It is possible we may meet in Santiago. Hope all goes well for you. Enjoy

Buen Camino

I'm planning to start in Seville shortly after that, in early September. I did the CF in the fall of 2015, and I like the idea of fewer folks and different challenges. Anybody else going at about that time?

Please be prepared for extreme heat in early September for the first few days. Accuweather forecasts temperatures in the high 90s for the first week of the month. If you can manage the heat you will surely love the VdlP. Buen Camino!

Thanks! I should be fine. I started the CF in late August (2015) and hit some hot days, and I recently camped and hiked in Death Valley. I'm not a mad dog or Englishman, so I stay out of the midday sun, hydrate, and pay attention to salt intake, and I am not too proud to take a day off or even phone a taxi if it's too hot.

Buen Camino!

Hope all goes well for you Pacific. I will be taking great care myself in managing the heat for first few weeks. One never knows but we may meet somewhere along the road!

Buen Camino
