Walking the beach from Porto to Vila do Conde

Hi!
I´m going to Portugal in April to walk from Porto to Muxia. We´re talking about walking along the sea from Porto to Vila do Conde. Can anyone who walked it tell me about this way? And the next question is where to stay in Vila do Conde. Maybe it´s hard to walk longer that day. I suppose that more than 20 km in sand can get your body really tired. And it seems like Vila do Conde is a very nice place to stay.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Olá peregrinos!

I live in Viana do Castelo ( 70 km N from Porto) and have walked from Viana do Castelo to Santiago several times.
The camiño is beautiful. I do not walk on the sand.I get very tired. I always fallow the yellow arrows. There are paths near the beach and paths close to the mount. You know that there is no sand all way from Vila do Conde to Muxia, right?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Nice! It´s the same time we are walking. :D We will walk Porto to Vila do Conde in 16th of April. Our first plan was to walk to Rates the first day, but we have decide to stay in hotel in Vila do Conde. We think that a days walk on the beach will be enough. But we looking forward to this day. Hope for nice weather so we can spend some nice breaks att the cafes along the way.
We also have the Brierley book. It´s good,

Maybe we will meet in Portugal. :D

Bon Camino

That is what I am planning to do -- starting from Porto in mid-April. The Brierley book lists a number of hotels in Vila do Conde and maps the route (with variations) back to the main caminho. He also indicates there are plenty of beachfront cafes along the way. I also plan to follow Brierley's advice and avoid city traffic by taking the metro to Matosinhos.

Very likely -- I will be leaving from Porto around the 15th to 17th -- planning on staying a day or two in Vila do Conde.
