Hello everyone!!

I finally starting training for my camino properly today... I start late September. I've had pneumonia so haven't been able to exercise for some time. Anyway, managed 10kms today and I discovered a fantastic app for smartphone users. It's called MapMyWalk and it's free, and just great!! Hoping it will help me prepare!!

Your app looks similar to 'RunKeeper' I used on my Camino; I chose it because it is connecting and embedding to Withings weight and blood-pressure health system. The wireless Withings scale helped me a great deal to monitor and reduce my weight along with daily training walks prior of departing to Spain. Lost about 10 kg in 12 weeks before–, but then alas re-gained 2 kg during the Camino (Vino and good food:p). A hint to those concerned to reducing their pack to the max: The rucksack is only part of a total ballast burdening your joints and feet.
Btw: The routine check-up after my return home not only flabbergasted my doc but revealed a state of health that I never had before, I'm 70.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

That's interesting.... May I ask what the major health changes were?

I've used MapMyWalk for about 5 weeks. I like it a lot. Pretty simple to use. I like the sound alert it gives me each mile telling me total miles, total time and the split for that mile, so no need to look at the phone while I walk. And the gps has helped me get back on track when I've gotten lost!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
We have enjoyed using RunKeeper. The 5 min updates were good to get us up to speed initially but do get a bit annoying so have muted this and only turn back on when the activity is over. We have alternated between selecting walking and hiking activities depending on paved or unpaved terrain and if wearing the pack or not. Love the little maps of the track in the summary and will likely use this when on the Camino.
