Want to walk for only 2 weeks where should i start

I am just wndering where a person would have to start if want to walk for jst 2 weeks?

I mean whats the name of that place? Thank you

Hi TheWalk, in two weeks u can walk from plenty of places, for example, the Camino Frances, Leon-Santiago. The Camino Portugues, starting from northern Portugal (Ponte de Lima or further south, Porto) and then on to Fisterra via Santiago. Then there's the Camino Aragones, which u may start on the French side (say Oloron St Marie) or on the Spanish side (Somport). U can also start it at Sain Jean Pied de Port or Roncesvalles (Camino Frances), but on these last two most probably u won't make it all the way to Santiago in two weeks. Which is ok to a lot of people, they start it there and then when they have more time the following year or so they continue to Santiago from there. 14 days camino

Hi there,
If I had 14 days to walk the camino Frances (leaving tomorrow!!) I would do 6 days of the Camino Frances at the start and 6 days at the end so that I would earn the Compostela certificate. (Peruscallo is exactly 100 km to Santiago but most people start at Sarria which is about 114kms)

This is a possible itinerary:

14 Days Camino

Day 1: Roncesvalles to Zubiri 21.7km
Day 2: - Pamplona 20,5km
Day 3: - Puente La Reina 23.5km
Day 4: - Estella 21.8km
Day 5: - Los Aroca 21.3km
Day 6: - Logróno 28.2km

Day 7: Overnight Train to Sarria: 01h58 arr: 09:47 €47

Day 8: Sarria to Portomarin 22.7 km
Day 9 Palais do Rei 24.8km
Day 10: Ribadiso 25.6km
Day 11: Pedrouza 22.6km
Day 12: Santiago 20.6km
Day 13 & 14: Free days in Santiago

Am keeping this post Sil, may have to use it at some point. Just one question re: Day 7: Overnight Train to Sarria: 01h58 arr: 09:47 €47 . Do u have to go to Madrid and then take a train to Sarria, or can u go directly? I imagine there may be buses to Sarria, wonder how long it would take...Thanks, xm 8)

The train is from Logroño to Sarria.
Unfortunately, there are no busses that go direct to Sarria from Logroño. You can take an Alsa bus to Lugo and then catch another bus to Sarria.
But the bus leaves Logroño at 02h15 and arrives in Lugo at 10am or 14h50 and arrives 22h20. Makes it a long day to get to Sarria and start walking.

How about just doing one section of it? Rather than start it, take a massive trip to Sarria, then finish it... Could do SJPP to Burgos, or Leon-ish area to Santiago, thus making it less disjoined... and you don't have the issues of having to strike up new friendships/prematurely finish em... Does that make any sense? Hope so!

You make good sense Minkey! Most people would say that is the most sensible thing to do.
That is why I said, "If I had 14 days to walk the camino" - knowing some of the best parts, I would like to walk for about a week from Roncesvalles (which to me is one of the most beautiful) and, should I never be able to go again, walk the last 100kms to reach Santiago.
And, although it is a Great Trek from Logroño to Sarria, it is an overnight train and you would be sleeping anyway.
Sigh! I have to wait until the end of August.

Thanks for the advice on two weeks - I will only have that much as my granddaughter and I are working around summer jobs and starting school so plan to go from 17-312 Aug (if we can find flights). So, I like the plan to split the two weeks for beginning and end but where would you fly in and out of for that? Any suggestions on airlines?
