The route from South Tyrol goes into the southern part of the Austrian alps through the Brenner pass...up to Innsbruck where it joins the western route at the church of St. James in Innsbruck and then heads west in the direction of Landeck. There is a paucity of inexpensive albergues In comparison to Spain. The route through Southern Tyrol and particularly through The Brenner pass is stunning.

Just be prepared for a lot of paved roads. And it is difficult to find cheap places to sleep less then 35 km apart.
