Camino Frances May 2019
Hi everyone, After 36 days walking my wife Gill and I arrived in Santiago at 5pm this afternoon having walked the Camino Frances from SJPDP. We completed 34 kilometres today. The day was perfect for walking and although we had planned to stay in O'Pedrouso we decided to press on and are delighted that we did so. We can now spend a full day in Santiago tomorrow before flying back to the UK on Friday. We found the whole experience fantastic and met some wonderful people on the way. Despite comments to the contrary we found the paths pretty tidy and apart from the last few days relatively quiet. Thanks to all who post on this site. We found the advice very useful in our planning. And incredibly despite covering the full way from SJPDP I didn't suffer any blisters and Gill only had two. And we are 70 and 69 respectively! One food for thought? We saw many people using electric powered cycles to ride along the way! Is this really the right thing to do. Thanks again. Derick Nichols

Many congratulations @Derick Nichols and Gill. It's a great feeling to enter that square in Santiago isn't it.

As for how others get to the end......without the power to do anything about it there's not much to be gained from letting it bother you, the thing to concentrate on is your own achievement.
