I'm typing from an iPhone with chubby fingers or would share more of my adventures... But I am on the Le Puy route with five of my six children, we are three days from Saint Jean Pied de Port, having started from Le Puy.
Incase anyone will be in SJPP we are planning on being there Tuesday! If you see us please come chat with us. We are having a blast!
Will head over Pureneese ( weather willing) Wednesday!
My blog is behind due to very limited wifi in France and only phone technology. We have camped the whole way.
Kids ages 17,15,13,11,9, all are loving it!
We think we will be in Santiago November 9ish then on to Finesterre and Muxia.
Hope to meet up with some forum members!
Already met up with Annie from OZ!!! A highlight for me!!!!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Wow! Where do I begin??? I just spent the morning reading your 2016 blog up to your most recent post. I bookmarked it so I could continue to share your family’s journey all the way to Finisterre. I am so impressed with your kids. Always smiling – such troopers. This cannot be as easy as you make it look! You get my nomination for Mom of the Year. And I’m wondering where do I sign up to adopt your kids? What an amazing, good natured crew.

As I read, I couldn’t help but relate to being on the receiving end of the way the French have so warmly welcomed you and showered you with kindness. Their genuine concern and generosity is so touching. I am sure you are the talk of the town and will be for years to come. It feels as though the rumors of your arrival are preceding you down the pipeline and they are ready with open arms to greet you.

As a retired teacher, I can only express admiration and support for the education your children are receiving. This experience will shape their lives forever. In California, we had "ESLR's" which were basically the school's goals. At my school, they were:
1. Contributing citizens of the world
2. Effective communicators
3. Healthy life long learners
4. Successful problem solvers
The experiences you are providing your children will definitely meet all these goals. What an opportunity. Please keep your wonderful posts coming!

Hi @shefollowsshells , I'm in Viskerret now, & moving slowly, so you and your "troop" should catch up fairly quickly. About how far do you go each day? I'm thinking we might meet around Estella or before. We can keep in touch via Conversation. I'd love to meet you and your kids - you all sound fabulous!!
Buen Camino!

Ah. You must be the American with five children that was mentioned tonight at the dinner table. I arrived at Gité du Cambarrat in Argagnon (Via Podiensis) & ate a meal with 9 Frenchmen & women who'd met up with you along the way. I'll be a few days behind you as I gradually 'warm' up to walking my Camino (tomorrow is my first day:)).
Buen Camino

My daughter walked 24km in the Drakensburg in one day - she was 6!! Well done. I think walking for kids is a fantastic adventure for them. Mine love it and that's how you see hidden gems. If I had the money mine would come with on our camino but one is starting University and won't have the time and the other is in high school - plus they have been on camps etc...and poor mum and dad are slaving away to pay for it all - we need a break.

What a great experience. I walked the Camino Frances with two of my three kids this year. I can't begin to describe the profound change it brought about in all of us, the youngest in particular. Savour every moment, good or bad. We hope next year to walk part of the Camino del Norte. They are already really excited about the trip.
