We are now back home after one month of Camino walking and two months of tourist fun in Spain. The ligaments in my left knee twisted very badly on day 3, all was fine going up and over the mountain in the rain and cold and wind. lol So I walked for most of the time on a painful knee, going slow and short distances. Then on that 18% downhill grade, would have to look up where exactly before Leon, the tendon popped out from under the knee cap, ummmm very painful. Did go to the emergency room when 5 full days of rest didn't help to make sure I hadn't broken anything. Half way isn't bad. We then used the train to gallivant all over Spain and had a great time.

The Camino was incredible for us, each personally and as a couple. Just got home yesterday and will be processing all of this for a long time to come.

What a great attitude, Jo, and well done. I hope you are healing well and that the camino that is continuing at home is as rich as the one in Spain.
(Hmmm. Halfway? There is no arbitrary whole camino, and so by definition there's no such thing as 'halfway. In my book you walked the Camino. Full stop. ;) )

Miss Jo, thanks for the report, and I do remember that 18-degree drop at Alto de Mostelares. Now you have the Christmas season to start planning for your Leon to Santiago de Compostela walk. Happy planning, happy execution. Wishing you and your family a Feliz Navidad, y que la luz de Dios alumbre su camino.

Resolve mixed with disappointment mixed with joy mixed with fun mixed with adapting and overcoming. :) It is good to hear your camino report, and I'm so happy that you did have a good trip despite the difficulties.

Sorry about your knee. I also twisted my left knee very badly at home in Thailand. MRI shows that I hurt my both ligaments MCL and ACL plus meniscus. After 8 months of waiting, the doctor decided to try PRP (platelet-rich-plasma) and I am waiting to see if my knee will get better and absolutely cured by the time I am on my Camino in March 2018.
I hope your knee gets better soon!

Jo and Frank? If so, I was in awe of your tenacity. I wish I had more time after my Camino to gallivant around like you guys did. I did some extra days in Madrid and Toledo. I would have liked to get Granada. I am tentatively planning on the Portuguese next fall. Hopefully, I can get another 2 month hall pass from the Queen Mother:D.

May that knee heal completely, Praorn - I have a friend who had this done with quite satisfactory results so may it be so for you, too! (And warm greetings from 'next door.')

As a fellow left knee problem sufferer (I blame the Morris Dancing - Google it if you don't know it) I understand your discomfort and wish you well. Sounds as if you made the best of things anyway - chapeaux for that.
