Hola!

Next friday I will be leaving to spain again. I'm going to start in St Jean on sunday 8th of november and will be walking for 2 weeks. I saw that the max. temperature in St. Jean will be 8 degrees celsius. What can I expect in the mountains? Will there be snow?

And is there a packinglist somewhere suited fvor a camino in November?

I did the camino in summer but find it much more difficult now to be prepared.

Hola Marcel

You can check the five day forecast and longer range forecast before you go. I'd say it is a little early for snow but who knows these days. Follow the advice from the Pilgrim Office in St Jean as they will have up to the minute information. If they advise not to walk over the route Napoleon - heed their advice.

You need good rain gear - a waterproof and wind proof outershell - either jacket and trousers or poncho and rain pants. Gaiters are optional for me if you use trousers that come over the top of your shoes/boots.

The only other difference in my packing list for winter is clothes which you can layer - a good base layer, mid layer and a heavier fleece - with all three +a windproof/waterproof out shell you'll be toasting.

Have a great Camino

John

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
Thanx for the help!

i'm flying to Madrid tomorrow and will be in St. Jean on sunday. Is there an open albergue in st Jean? I know the dutch one (Esprit du Chemin) is closed this time of year.

Grtz Marcel
