Sarria to Santiago, September 2013
SJPP to Estella, September/October 2014
I will be traveling from SJPP to Estella the last week of September and the first week of October. Can anyone provide insights on the typical temperatures and precipitation in that section during that time frame?

Much appreciated, and Buen Camino.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
You can check weather history on most of the major weather sites. I use wunderground.com. This year will be just like last year, but on different days!

Buen camino!

For SJPP, see http://www.meteofrance.com/previsions-meteo-france/saint-jean-pied-de-port/64220 , with current situation and historicals. That´s the french national weather agency.
Generally speaking, end of sept-early october is a very good season for walking in Spain or France -not so hot, with cool mornings. Anyway, mountain passes are quite unpredictable and weather can change very quickly. A final check with the "accueil" or pilgrim's office in SJPP is always advisable.
Buen camino!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
It is a long uphill walk for the first day and late start. Hope your legs are fit.

I'm starting from SJPP also on Sept 29th and planning for warm weather ..20-25 deg c... Irish style tho with unpredictability :)
I've been to Galicia before in Sept and it was pretty warm so walking in those conditions will be a new challenge for me. Lets hope we will be glad of the cooler temps on the climbs over the Pyrenees and warmer temps on the rest day. I'm hoping to make Estella also but depending on my progress on day 2 and 3. Also looking to share a taxi to SJPP on Sept 28th after flight from Dublin to Biarritz if anyone wants?
